      Job Description: 
    The State of Oregon has implemented a State Data Center ("SDC") to deliver 
centralized computing, networking and voice services to participating state 
agencies. At this time, the SDC is focusing on consolidating operating systems 
to include IT platform environments in order to implement specific standards 
and enhance efficiencies in the delivery and support of centralized computing 
services (the "Project"). This effort will increase availability, reliability 
and reduce recurring operational costs to customer agencies. Inherent to this 
mission is the need to provide ongoing support, development and maintenance to 
the DB2 z/OS Mainframe environment.

The SDC requires the services of a Systems Administrator IV ("SA IV") as 
defined in Exhibit E of the Price Agreement to work with SDC staff, providing 
services for the z/OS Mainframe environment which includes, at a minimum, the 
obligation to:

1. Develop, coordinate, maintain and implement DB2 systems software; and 

2. Provide DB2 systems administration and support on the z/OS Mainframe system.

REQUIRED SERVICES:

The Key Person assigned to the resulting Work Order Contract ("WOC") shall 
possess the knowledge and skill set of a Systems Administrator IV as set forth 
in Exhibit E of the Price Agreement and work up to the maximum 1040 hours with 
the SDC's team, executing IT activities and technical duties related 
specifically to DB2 z/OS Mainframe environment. The Key Person must provide the 
following SA IV duties as requested by the Agency. 

SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR DESCRIPTION:
Installs new software releases, system upgrades, evaluates and installs patches 
and resolves software related problems. Performs system backups and recovery. 
Maintains data files and monitors system configuration to ensure data 
integrity. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures 
within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established 
guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate 
supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising 
independent judgment. Typically reports to a project leader or manager.

REQUIRED TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE
The Key Person assigned to the resulting WOC shall demonstrate advanced Systems 
Administrator IV capabilities with 9 (nine) or more years of professional 
knowledge in the following areas:

1. Experience with z/OS Mainframe Systems;

2. Expert technical knowledge and competence working with DB2 for z/OS 
Mainframe; and

3. Ability to plan and accomplish goals and perform a variety of complicated 
systems administrator technical tasks within the z/OS environment.

Work experience on UNIX/AIX Systems is NOT accepted as a substitute for this 
required technical knowledge.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
The Key Person assigned to the resulting WOC MUST have skills and experience in 
ALL of the following areas:

1. Knowledge of systems management in a z/OS Mainframe environment;

2. Experience with DB2 for z/OS, DB2connect and other related software 
installation and maintenance;

3. Experience configuring and maintaining highly scalable and high availability 
environments;

4. Experience monitoring, measuring and improving system availability, 
performance and utilization for z/OS DB2 systems;

5. Experience performing software version upgrades of DB2 and related systems 
software;

6. z/OS Mainframe skills such as TSO, ISPF and JCL;

7. Experience with Omegamon for DB2; and

8. Experience with systems utilities such as CA-DB2 Tools, Platinum, IBM DB2 
Utilities 

Contractor shall provide, and the Key Person assigned to the resulting WOC will 
utilize, a workstation with the following:

1. Microsoft XP;

2. DAS approved virus protection software with regular updates (submit software 
name and version with response);

3. Microsoft Office 2003; and

4. Visio Standard 2003.

The SDC will provide a workspace with access to required SDC systems and 
internet.
