Title:                          SAP BW Basis Support Specialist with APO
experience

Description:

Experience: At Least 5 years of SAP BW Basis Experience. 5-7 years
preferred; 1-2 years on APO

Scope:

Work across multiple functions (DBA, UNIX, Storage, Application teams) to
operate 3 SAP-BI/BW/APO landscapes.

ü  Responsible for understanding R/3 Basis functions and all BW specific
technical functions above the base R/3 level such as (Data Loads, SEM-BPS,
Query Management, Cubes, BIA).

ü  Responsible for working with Technology Partners (SAP, Oracle, IBM) on
managing defects, applying fixes (OSS Notes), escalating issues and
processing early watch sessions.

ü  BASIS Support in 24x 7 multi instance Netweaver 2004s, ECC 6, BI, XI,
WAS, APO, Portal environment including Implementation of new SAP
functionality,

ü  Customization of SAP BW administrator Work bench include defining source
system in SAP BW, defining info objects, preparing Info cubes, Monitoring
and scheduling data extraction and data load jobs.

ü  APO administration include LiveCache monitoring, CIF- R/3 integration and
use of DBM GUI tool .

ü  Implementation of SOPs for BASIS support. Mentoring junior team members
in production support.

ü  Analyzing and resolving SAP problems,

ü  Applying SAP OSS notes,

ü  SAP support package updates, SAP system copies,

ü  Monitoring and Tuning SAP system performance,

ü  Configuring STMS and transport management within SAP, BW system
landscape,

ü  Supporting Functional team in day to day technical support.

ü  Monitor database growth and prepare capacity planning documentation and
plans.

ü  Need to have good communication skills with many levels of people,

ü  Perform application break/fix services, including applicable testing,

ü  Planning and assisting client with Initial Data transfer and incremental
data transfers

ü  Database performance tuning, Periodic Reorganizations, Snapshot
Replication, Backup and restore management.

ü  Design, develop and run test cases as part of the SAP release cycle for
applications that are being supported in Customer's production SAP BI
landscapes, as defined in Customer's Release Services Calendar,Except for
defects resulting from new functionality, remediate defects identified
during testing which are found as part of the SAP release cycle for
applications that are being supported in Customer's production SAP BI
landscapes,

ü  Validate and perform disaster recovery whenever required,

ü  Perform quality assurance services, in accordance with the standards
contained in the Standard Operating Procedures Guide, for new extraction and
dataload processes

ü  SAP BW, APO & BI 7.0 Module Support,

ü  Administration & Maintenance Expertise

ü  Required - day-to-day fire fighting & problem resolution, configurations
with BI 7.0- live cash data load process expertise

ü  Monitor and make recommendations to improve database performance.

ü  Database administration including database maintenance & performance
tuning.

ü  Work with developer, UNIX and functional representatives to solve SAP and
database level issues.

ü  Lead the installation of SAP systems.

ü  Monitor SAP environment and lead troubleshooting efforts.

ü  Proactively monitor SAP performance and tune appropriately.

ü  Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation.

ü  Configure and maintain system environment modes and profiles.

ü  Takes the Lead in System Performance tuning, making recommendations and
implementing those recommendations.

ü  Define and maintain operating procedures. Develop and maintain Unix
Scripts.

ü  Work closely with UNIX for installation, upgrades, and troubleshooting of
SAP databases.

ü  Correspond with SAP Hotline and Provide OSS operational support.
Administer system schedules (Backups, downtime, client copies, upgrades).

ü  Support 3rd party tools which link with SAP.

ü  Provide technical support to functional areas, configurators, and
developers.

ü  Ability to provide 24x7 pager and/or onsite support
