I visited the Voteserve.com site yesterday to see if there were any UK
metrication polls. There was one (under UK politics, I think) asking
if it was right for criminal action to be taken against non-metric
traders. There were (I think) 14 votes saying it was wrong, and 7
saying it was right. More significantly, in the breakdown of votes,
all those who said it was OK were in the 18-50 bracket. All of those
up to 18 and all those above 50 said it was wrong.
