Thanks to all for the info on thermostats! I am confident that I will be able to locate one that does the trick. The customer info line to Honeywell has been refusing to accept calls to connect to a live technician because they are overloaded, it says, but I think I can look at the various installation/operation manuals on the website. I'll look at the other brand also. Someone mentioned how he refuses answers in ifp and gives "real life" answers in SI. When people ask how far I run in a week, or a day, or whatever, I answer in km. When asked the usual "how far is that in miles", I say that I don't know, that I don't measure running distances in miles, and that it is about as far as from this well-known place to that one. Or, that it is about 10 times around the track, or about as far as I can go in 45 minutes, and so on. When people in cars stop me when I am running and ask for directions (this happens a lot), if the distance is near I always tell them it is xxx m to the place. I never have gotten a bad reaction to this. HARRY WYETH
