Hi, folks, I'm sorry to disturb the list for such an off-topic, but I'm... "desperate"... Sometime ago I noticed that someone here sort of successfully "assigned" the url: www.metric.org to the USMA's web site. I need to know how I could do that. I'm about to register a domain name and require assistance to find out how I can "reroute" it to wherever my page(s) is(are). Also, what kind of info would I need to provide the "registering company" to make this "transfer". I was told I'd require to know the primary and secondary DNS of the business' server(s) that hold(s) the pages, plus IP addresses of the page itself, or something to that effect. But I'm somewhat confused about that. Are these "different" things (DNS and IP address) after all? Since a "home page" normally has "links" to other pages would I require to know IP addresses (or whatever) of every single one of them? And if yes, how can I ever obtain those? Would there be a way to find this info directly via surfing or do I have to inquire with the business holding the page(s)? Thank you so much in advance for any help any of you can provide me on this? And once again, apologies to my colleagues here of the list. Marcus Angelfire for your free web-based e-mail. http://www.angelfire.com
