The box of Tide I have says: NET WEIGHT 187 OZ (11.62 LB) 5.27 kg

It is all in English. Let me know if what you are buying is a standard size
 or not.

Giant Food, Goshen Crossing Shopping Center, Gaithersburg, Maryland.

Ironic, since Giant (even though owned by Ahold of Holland) is pretty
anti-metric -- this is the outfit that labels 2 liter bottles of soda "67.6
oz" on the shelf label. To Giant, SI doesn't exist.

You see many instances in Canada were a product is labelled in irrational SI (rational
US) and the US value is given on the shelf label simply because it's more compact.

However what bugs me is seeing potatoes and other fruits and vegetables in boxes and
bags that are rational-WOMBAT, even though they were packaged in Canada. i.e. 5 lbs
(2.27 kg) potatoes.

Now that they're in season there are also the 5 lbs (2.27 kg) boxes of mandarine
oranges in the stores. I strongly suspect they arrive in North American by the crate
and are repackaged in the United States using the 2.27 kg box.
