Thank you, "kilopascal," for being so kind as to so often forward some my yahoo club comments on to this list. The desire of the original founders of the little http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/metricAmerica was to shift all the club activity over to the delphi/metric site. It is my contention that even so, it is good to keep a few pioneer metric promotion sites going at as many different places on the net as possible. I will post here at usma more often. I have held back in posting much here because, as I have explained before, I know that most of you are more adept at metric than I. I am not much of a metric expert. But I am one hell of a metric promoter and booster and cheer leader. I would like to encourage everyone here in this list to consider that, although this list is valuable, this list really does NOT serve the function, much, of recruitment of new people to believe in metrication. Here we continue to propagate the true faith, we share notes about exactly how metric works, how it ought to work. But this is not a place where we do much evangelical work. We come here to get reinvigorated, perhaps, rejuvenated you might say, prepared to go back out to do that evangelical work. We need both kinds of activity. This list is very important for the maintenance of the truth faith. But if we are to find the sinners and convert them, we must also dare to wander out from the convert of this metric list. I would urge everyone here to find at least some place else on the internet, some place not devoted to metric at all, where you might barge in and promote metrication, yahoo clubs, cnn communities, delphi forums, etc. And let's continue to found additional sites out there for folks who might be a little interested in metric. We need to continue to promote the truth faith here in this board...while mixing it up out there among the heathen a bit, trying to pick off a few more each day. Again, sorry everyone about the failed effort at a national radio show (by internet) to discuss metrication for the full show. As I reported, the show went very well, especially considering that I had only a local audience for the day, including NOBODY steeped in metrication, nobody from u.s.m.a., etc., due to station not being on the net for the day. We will try again soon after I am sure that we are truly live on the net each day. Sincerely, Andy Johnson Hopeful that 2001 we turn the corner, making a definite U.S. commitment to metric. http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/andyjohnsonshow http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/impeachnot http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/colorblind http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/metricAmerica http://www.wjgr.com --- kilopascal <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > From: "kilopascal" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > To: "U.S. Metric Association" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Subject: [USMA:10099] RE: Comments from Andy > Date: Fri, 29 Dec 2000 10:09:10 -0500 > Reply-to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > 2000-12-29 > > I know Don is a member.
