Lee (and others),

This is very interesting. It would seem from the paragraph below that the PG
semi-metric series is now obsolete, effective a week ago. Now, does this
mean that PG threaded devices will not be produced any more? Or does it
mean that they will be produced in limited quantities for replacement parts?
Is this just for electrical conduit? Does it/will it affect all pipe?

I see the standard is an European Norm, but is this standard valid
world-wide? Is it expected to replace NPT? Where do you see this standard
leading?

Pg thread usage will eventually be phased out in continental Europe. A new
metric thread standard (EN 50262) will be phased in as mandatory beginning
on March 1, 2001 replacing the Pg thread. Metric electrical threads are
already in use in the UK where they have replaced the (now obsolete for
electrical use) BSP threads.

Keiner ist hoffnungsloser versklavt als derjenige, der irrtümlich glaubt
frei zu sein.

There are none more hopelessly enslaved then those who falsely believe they
are free!
