A lot of the fitments of Canadian commercial buildings are still in imperial units, even though the buildings are designed and drawn in millimetres and metres. Those drain fittings are probably not really in hard inches and can just as easily be expressed in millimetres. France uses British plumbing standards. A 1/2 inch pipe is a "treize" (a 13) and a 3/4 inch pipe is a "dix-neuf" (a 19) Joseph B. Reid 17 Glebe Road West Toronto M5P 1C8 Tel. 416 486-6071
