I'm single and working hard to romance a lovely woman in New York, so I'm in
the process of buying a diamond toe ring for her.
In my search, I was surprised to find metric measurements on sites dedicated
to what could, at best, be called conspicuous consumption. However, that's
what I found:
Measure your toe circumference in millimeters, then use a table to get the
ring size:

This page has no conversion factors, and does not attempt to tell someone
how to get from inches to millimeters.
Ring band widths in millimeters:

Perhaps some of you who more experience with jewelry than I do. Are metric
measurements new, starting to displace the old ones (inches, carats mass,
carats as a percentage, etc.)? Or is it just a measurement-messy industry
where metric is used for some types of measurements?
