I don't think anyone ever said the USMA can not lobby, what they said was
that if the USMA was to lobby, they could lose their tax-exempt status.
What this means, that the USMA would have to pay taxes on the money they
take in for dues. And I don't think they want to see limited funds needed
for valuable projects wasted on taxes.
So, they don't lobby. Now, if someone volunteers to leave them a vast sum
of money, then I'm sure they won't care about the tax status. Any givers
out there?
