That would be strange, indeed. An ounce is not approximately 100 g at all. A
quarter pound (4 ounces) is approximately 100 g. The McDonalds hamburger
chain advertizes "the quarter pounder", a hamburger sandwich with a quarter
pound of meat. I have suggested that it could be called "the hundred
grammer".
