I bought a treadmill today and one of the requirements was
that it could display distances in km and allow you to
enter your weight in kg.

Subject: [USMA:15792] True Fitness: Good Guys

Last year I bought a True Fitness model 450 treadmill.  As with anything sold in the USA it registered distance run in miles.  There is no adjustment switch to convert the display.

I e-mailed the company to see if I could get the electronics changed so it registered in km.  I got a response to call their customer service number.  I did, and talked with a fellow named Eric.  He said to take out the display panel printed circuit board and send it to him and he would replace it with a metric board.

At no time did anyone think the request odd -- they just treated it as a service they provided.

I did, and eight days later the metric board came back.  I put it in and it works perfectly.  Each lap is now 400 m and not 1/4 mile.  There was no cost except what I paid to send it there.

Their products are of top quality, and so is their customer service.  Now all I have to do is make it turn 105 kg into 75 kg.
