These statements are pretty much the equivalent of saying "women are no
good at math" or "Jews are money grubbers" or "black men have big penises"
In other words: perhaps true of some of the members of the "group," but a
ridiculous stereotype when applied to the whole group.

There are 280 million people in this country, so which "US" or "america"
are you talking about? We don't march in lock-step, and there is no way
this country is just going to wake up tomorrow and metricate.

I suggest you stop ranting about this country as if it were one monolithic
entity that could even, in theory, metricate overnight. Instead, why not
help those of us fighting to metricate where we can, as best we can?

He continues:

>America wake up, metricate! dont do it for us, we dont give a f***, do it
>for your nation, your country and your future and wealth!

Hogwash -- if you didn't "give a f***" you would not write these emails.
And if metric were so absolutely critical to our "future and wealth," why
is the USA such a economically successful country without the metric system?

Metric is a better system, but it is one small part of being successful.
The USA does lots of things right, and we will metricate in time. Till
then, I do not believe this type of America-bashing is going to help the
cause one bit.
