I have a Sony laptop and Alt0128 means that I have to first lock the numerals, then unlock them. Brrr! It works but it's a real hassle. It seems that on my computer Windows ME has assigned Ctrl-Alt-E for the euro sign.
This works for me a lot better than the first option.
