Stephen Davis asked in USMA 17926:

>In the case of measurements used mainly by word processors and the like,
>what is the metric equivalent of twips, points and pica's, if indeed, the
>equivalents exist??

Franois Cardelli in "Scientific Unit Conversion", Springer, 1999, reported
        point (de Paris) = 0.188 mm
        point (Didot = 0.376 mm
        point (US printer's) = 0,351 mm
        point (Imprimerie Nationale) = 0.399 mm

        pica = 4.218 mm

I have no idea of what a twip in. Please give context.
