John:

Channel 2 (CBS - www.kutv2.com): The map showing forecasts in the
immediate broadcast area (which includes all of the Olympic venues) has
temperatures listed in the following format: "28/-2c" (c is in
superscript).

Channel 4 (ABC - www.4utah.tv): The daily planner, showing temperatures
at three points during the day (8AM, Noon, 5PM) -> "28F" (at the top),
and "-2C" (at the bottom).

Channel 5 (NBC - www.ksltv.com): F oonly (@#&^%*@^$!!!)

Channel 13 (Fox - www.fox13.com): Current weather in Salt Lake City,
tonight's and tomorrow's forecasts for Salt Lake City as 3 separate
graphics: "28F" (at the top) and "-2C" (at the bottom) - for the first
graphic, and for the other two the temperatures are on opposing sides:
F on the left and C on the right.

Cheers,
Nikolay

P.S. Catherine and I just got home from the Olympic Torch Rally and the
party, since the torch is staying overnight here in Provo. It was a lot
of fun indeed, despite -5C outside.

It worked here, because the other stations were able to see quickly what
the
others were doing and to copy quicker. In other industries, it may not
work
this easy. If certain companies are known to set standards and
precedents
in their area of expertise, then of course we should concentrate on
them.

BTW, how metric are these stations now? Do they give all of their
weather
Data in SI, or just some? Elaborate! I wonder how many anti-metric
forces
are contacting them to stop. In the eyes of a luddite, this is a
perfect
opportunity to expose the world to FFU, and to show by example how well
America does using just FFU.
