I heard a few days ago on the news that the US Government is going to
introduce new banknotes next year to enhance security and to make life hell
for forgers. Wouldn't that be a perfect opportunity to drop the 1 dollar
note once and for all? The new series could start with a $5 note.

BTW; I read more about the survey that claimed that 80% (in reality 77%)
wanted to return to the guilder.
It appeared that from the small minority of anti-Europeans in The
Netherlands a very large proportion responded. There was a question about
having a sense of European citizenship because of the euro. 58% of the
respondents stated that they did not regard themselves as Europeans at all;
in other words this survey is contaminated because it is top-heavy from our
own 'Eurosceptics'. People who are opposed to the EU are of course against
the euro as well. I responded with a pro-euro answer.
