This is also a good psychological boost to the EU (and a
warning to smug anti-EU American politicians and business owners), because it
proves that the Euro *can* indeed compete against the US dollar and win.

The euro and other currencies are gaining against the
dollar because many foreign investors are losing confidence in Wall
Street. They fear the American economy is still weak, despite the
propaganda, and there are too many Enrons out there. That is too many
companies claiming to have profits and in reality having nothing.
