Hi All:
My entry into Canada border on July 4 gave me aunique feeling of being
welcomed by the 'METRIC CONVERSION' announcement just across announcing the
distances here are indicated by the 'Kilometres' and not in Miles. As an
educational point road users can mentally register that a "Furlong is 200 m;
1/4 Mile is 400 m; a 1/2 Mile is 800 m; and a ONE Mile is 1and a half
Kilometre (although 1.61Km). Distance between the Cricket pitch is 20 metre.
The Fedral government and State governments can easily coordinate to change
the signboards on the road sides to LEARN this simple change over, as
astarting point.
