I wrote to him already in 1999. I agree with John; this kind of 'humour' is
a dangerous weapon. We had this trash on our list in that year. And I cannot
see the fun of this rant. It seeps with arrogance. "It would be best if the
world stopped using metric" makes me see red. These people spout the most
outrageous and incredible nonsense about metric, and when they are
challenged, they claim it was just fun. I cannot believe that this stuff was
tongue in cheek.
On the other hand, I really enjoy the http://metricsucks.com site. This one
is in my view really with tongue stuck firmly in cheek. I think it ridicules
the opposition to SI. The BWMA thinks that metricsucks is an ally, as it is
on their links page.
