I'm confused!  From the article it states:

Trading standards spokesman John Dell said : "Free flowing beer must be sold by the pint and that measure is here to stay.

But also in the article is the following:

Austrian Andrea Schultz started a bierkeller in Worcester two months ago, selling beer from her home country in earthenware one-litre jars.

She believes the beer, which is imported from Salzburg, tastes better in the traditional flutes because the tops are "not so wide and keep in the flavour".

Is the beer sold in these earthware jars considered "free-flowing"?  Isn't she, in essence, selling bottled beer?  Isn't it legal in Britain to sell bottled beer in litres?

So, where is she breaking any law?

John

Being a proud Brit, I have to hang my head in shame and agree with Wizard of Os. The thing that really annoys me is that the "Imperialists" want to buy their French apples by the pound and drink their German lager by the pint. Give me a kilo of Worcester Pearmains and a litre of Old Peculier any day!

An Austrian woman running a pub in Britain has been told to stop using
litres:
