Tom,

One thing that will surely prevent a further delay, would be for the law to
be changed that would require all new cars manufactured or imported after a
certain date to have only metric speedometers and odometers.  What is the
plan for this?  Because once cars start appearing in metric only it would
make no sense to have speeds in miles.

Can you find out for us what the plan for the conversion of auto instrument
panels is?
