'Calling the connector *1/8 inch (3.2 cm) or 'ONE soot - as the uneducated wayside mechanic calls in India* will not make it 3.5 mm mini-phono plug , but will add confusion among those WHO intend learning 'metric dimensions' it will always be a 3.5 mm diameter connector'.
So are the floppy dimensions 90mm x 94mm x 3.3mm!

Hey Monster,
Where have you been hiding for at least the last 35 or more years? You
designate the 3.5 mm mini-phono plug as 1/8 inch. It has never been that
size, it has always been 3.5 mm. 1/8 inch is only 3.2 mm. If you connect a
3.2 mm plug into a 3.5 mm socket, the fit will be very lose.
In fact I just measured some of the components I have at home with a pair of
millimetre calibrated micrometers and the pin diameter is exactly 3.5 mm.
Also, another plug smaller than the 3.5 mm measures exactly 2.5 mm
See here as an example:

Please correct your error by getting rid of the 1/8 inch nonsense and state
the mini plug as having a true 3.5 mm diameter. Calling it 1/8 inch will
not make it so, it will always be a 3.5 mm diameter connector. Just like
calling a floppy disk by 3.5 inches, does not make it so. It is in fact 90
mm x 94 mm x 3.3 mm, none of these converts to 3.5 inch.
