Michael,

Do you know what "blinders" (Auf deutsch: das Scheuleder) are?  Well, that
is what the US government is wearing now.  All they can see with them on is
Iraq.   They eat, sleep and think Iraq.  So, at this time I don't think
there is any option.

Your #3below will not be accepted at this time.  There is a very immense
anti-French  attitude in this country at this time.  The very mention of
France in some circles brings out the anger in some people.  Let's face it,
we have at this moment, a snowball's chance in hell to see an progress on
metrication.  Read USMA 25157 to understand what I feel is the only way to
end US influence in the world of measurements.
