Sorry, Joe, but the kilogram-force is 9.80665 newtons, exactly! It *does not* vary with location.

However, the force acting on one kilogram of mass *does* vary with
location, as I believe you meant to say.

Thanks for reminding me.  I have a vague memory that the number you
gave is the  acceleration due to gravity at 45� latitude and mean sea
level.
