My eagle-eyed wife found the advertisement in the attachment, in today's Salt Lake Tribune, for a 1.75 liter carton of Snelgrove ice cream. As you can see, there is no colloquial equivalent to the metric size.
Snelgrove's was orignally a Salt Lake City company, and is now a division of Dreyer's, although this plant is still here (about 1.5 km from where I live). Note also the patriotic, American theme along with the metric units -- clearly not everyone associates "metric" with "foreign."
