The SI metric system is not only "related to the length unit, metre", the length unit metre is one of the BASE UNITS upon which ALL other SI uits are based. It can't be any more "related" than that.

You seem to have a problem with the present SI metre and want to change it to a "new metre". That is unacceptable because ALL other SI units are based on the seven SI base units, one of which is the metre.

Changing the meaning of the word metre to mean your "new meter" would totally destroy the rest of SI. That's why I can't accept your argument that a new meter is desirable. Making a new metre that is somehow more simply related to time, arc angle and longitude does not appear to be a sufficient improvement to warrant changing everything else in SI which is working just fine as it is.
