What are the actual dimensions of the World's largest bottle?

4.5 feet is only 1.37 m.  Which is correct, 1.39 m or 1.37 m?

The second article has the bottle at only 1.3 m.  This is crazy that something metric gets converted to a FFU size, then back converted to metric and the metric amounts look inconsistent and the FFU consistent.  This is unacceptable.

The bottle was made in the Czech Republic, so we know it is a metric design and manufacture.

The bottle was named Maximus by Fred Dame, Master Sommelier and president of the U.S. chapter of the Court of Master Sommeliers. Previously, some called it "the King Kong of wine bottles."

The development of the world's largest wine bottle began late in 2003, with preliminary plans and drawings created by glass engineer and artist, Charles Parriott.

In the months that followed, Parriott searched the Czech Republic and the United Kingdom trying to locate the expertise and facilities required to produce the most spectacular wine bottle ever made.

The first mold, which was created in Kryf, Czech Republic, was shipped to England for bottle-blowing. But there were problems with the mold, which caused imperfections in the bottle.

The second mold, which was redesigned by Stanislav Jedinak, working with Ajeto Czech Glass Craft in NovyBor, Czech Republic, was made of European beech wood. It was transported to the Kavalier Glass Works, in Sazava, also in Czech Republic.

The bottle was successfully blown in June, finished at the SKLO Bohemia Co. in Sazava, and shipped to Beringer Vineyards in St. Helena, California, where it was filled and corked. and then stored under ideal temperature and humidity conditions before being transported (very carefully) to New York for the auction at Sotheby's.

Wine Ventures' co-owner Craig McManus, who has been in the retail wine business for 25 years, opened his store ten years ago, "with a focus on my two passions: fine wines and fine chocolates."

McManus, who lectures and writes about wine, said Maximus would go on permanent display in his store this week. "I doubt customers will have any difficulty finding this bottle," he said.
