I wish I could be a bit more optimistic but as far as I see Wegmans is
as English as the next guy. I know the bulk food scales and all their
pricing is in English. I'll have to pay more attention though and if I
see any signs...

The metric milk is long gone, the new containers were not accepted by
the public. The other problem is that they never removed the gallon
containers so consumers just bought what they were familiar with. Kind
of like the dollar coin argument.

Wegmans is a great store, very progressive but they are not marketing
foolish and selling in grams when the competition is selling in pounds
probably would not be wise for them (sad to say).

The article is 100% accurate but the one thing they failed to point out
is their customer relations is the best. Rarely if ever is an employee
rude or disrespectful, are lines long, is an employee not available to
help you. They are willing to take returns no questions asked and are
supporters of the community.

Sounds like I work there but no, I'm just very proud of our home grown
grocery chain. BTW they are a private held family owned company so don't
expect to see hundreds of new stores, they know how to expand smartly.

Interesting article about Wegmans's grocery store:

This is the company that sells milk in a 3 L container. If anyone lives
near one, I'd be interested to know how much metric pervades their
various "bars" (pizza bar, salad bar, cheese bar, etc.). Do you pay for
cheese by the gram or ounce?
