If people are so 'bright' why would they need spoonfeeding imperial
measures
I think that's a bit "hgher than thou". I don't feel like I'm being
"spoonfed". When I go into the stores (or in fact in most areas of life) I
prefer to use imperial. That's how I am. I sometimes use metric - I just
prefer imperial. That doesn't make me thick - I'm just exploiting a choice
that appears to be harming no-one.
And considering imperial has been here from the year dot - don't you think
that its more likely to be a case of spoonfeeding metric? Or are you one of
those people who believe that most Brits have "got over it" now and
generally shop in metric "because that's what the labels say".
Or perhaps its because I'm a thirty-something "old-timer"? ;-)
Actually they show reductions in both.
Not on the same product.
Sorry - that's what I'm saying, ie they show both reductions on the same
product -or in just imperial. eg apples xx/lb (down xx/lb) xx/KG (down
xx/KG)
I'm sure America has the same experience as us where traders always price
things at say 9.99 rather than 10.00 I'd have thought that people were
bright enough not to be influenced by that but for some reason retailers
insist on doing it.
That's a different subject.
I've always been irritated by that "put the price 1p down to make it look
more pleasing" stunt.
Do they not realise that I'd rather spend 10 quid than get endless
semi-worthless pennies back in my pocket?
Although there is one "good" side. I tend to put the penny into the nearest
charity box.
