Karl, CC sirs:
What calendar is perfect?
It have tried to argue, and presented my case for astronomers and 'calendar
group' to make improvements - my dedication of some 35-years, as a common
man would feel & want, in short to have NO or minimal changes; AND as the
French Revolutionary people desired: to find an *easiest, suerest &
cheapest* proposal that does NOT hurt Socio-Cultural & Politico-Economic set
up, to meet the over-view of Leauge of Nations and now United Nations. My
calendar approach:
satisfy the impacts feared towards COST that may need be incurred if and
when the change need be brought about:
(a) No change to 7-day Sabbath cycle;
(b) No change to 12/24-hour clock face;
(c) No/or minimal change to Gregorian calendar format;
(d) No major change to mathematical/trigonometric functions; and
(e) to find the most easily adaptable scheme with least possible changes
to get a
surest, easiest and cheapest transitional proposal.
I have recently created a PP presentation (although still improving), since
recently learnt, which is about (1 MB). I can send if Victor and/group like
to share for uploading on Calndr-site.
Todays 'eclipse' was partial in India (between 16:20 (16h34md) PM thro 17:23
(17h39md) PM), India time; and marked special significance. It marked:
(a) end of Pitri-shradhs and the START of NAVRATRAS;
(b) a Soma-vati Amavasya; and
(c) the start of 10-day 'Metric Decaday - October 04 thro October 13),
co-incidentally with the Papal Bull of 1582 AD - when calendars lost
10-days.

What calendar is perfect?
KARL SAYS:
My yerm calendar is better (never two days out in UT), but only because it
is a pure lunar calendar.
However, the Ogam wheel can predict today's eclipse:
Given my 40th Birthday Eclipse on 16 February 1999 at gn#15 L12f (not
L12o).
Today (gn#2 G4f) is in the 7th year counting from that date.
Those 7 years have 5 occasions (#15F, #16G, #18H, #19R, #2T) where the new
moon has jumped over a tree-month and 4 occasions (#16L, #17C, #19F, #1G)
that a full moon has jumped over a tree-month. This suggest an eclipse 4 or
5 tree-months before the end of those 7 years (#3L). The resulting
tree-months are (#2M and #2G). So we may have an eclipse today and like my
Birthday eclipse it is Annular.
Karl
07(13(01 - Happy New Moon!
