If it happens to anyone else off the USMA listserver then its quite possible that your email was "lifted" by code that has found email addresses on the archive website. This is the reason some people use a faked email address like [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the words "remove nospam to email me" in the user's text. Then the email cannot get lifted.

Or you could have just been unlucky

Subject: [USMA:34733] spam targetted at details used only in usma correspondence
Date: Tue, 4 Oct 2005 16:44:51 +0100

I am now receiving spam that is targetted at details used only in usma
correspondence. I was not aware that details from this mailing list would be
available to spammers.

Can I ask for my details to be kept private and removed from any publicly
accessible material?
