On the point about aviation, do they actually use km/h for aircraft speed? I was under the impression that the predominant practice was for knots even in metric countries.
In Russia and China they use km/h for speed in aircraft and m/s for wind speed.
In the US we use knots for aircraft speed and mph for wind speed, close but not the same unit.
