Yes, I know that a million tons is 1 000 000 tons, not 1000 tons.
What a dumb (and careless) mistake I made.
The remainder of my message should have been (as all of you probably

a ton (or tonne) is 1000 kg and
a kilogram is 1000 g,
that makes a million tonnes equal to (1 000 000)x1000x1000 g
which is 10^12 g or 1 Tg (one teragram).
Surely their two quoted pieces of data
(1.1 MMMT and 1.4 MMMT)
would be more easily stated as:
1.1 Tg and 1.4 Tg
Sorry!
I feel as foolish as are those people who use "MMMT" for "million
metric tons".
