The UK newspaper "The Independent" has published the results of a poll 
asking "Should Britain go metric?"

Yes - 62%
No - 38%

I don't personally set much store by these single question yes/no on-line or 
telephone polls and I am suspicious of those showing figures like 97% 
against metrication of road signs. However to prove the point the above 
result does show how variable it can be.
