Several posts have triggered me to post this to USMA, for existance of US
Metrication Board is being threatened - unless America DOES want to revert
to 'good old days' and defeat the objectives so dear to Le Systeme
Internationale d'Unites.
In my mail of 2006 March 28, I wrote to Scientific American:
"I persued my studies on calendar REFORM, since 1970-71; and have been
updating my ideas for A Possible World Calendar. My results have been via my
published contributions throught Indian media. I am now with my children in

Glancing thro page of Special Edition (V16 N1): A Matter of Time, I am stuck
at Gary Stix using *American Spellings* for length Unit Unit - Metre (as
meter - ignoring the SI langauage - Le Systeme Internationale d'Unites), in
a Science Magazine of your repute. Gary would ignore my mention, since I am
here to win friends for METRICATION, to make 'metre belong to the SI Metric
System'. In my examination of 'Indus Inch', I provided my view directed to
flourishing perios of Indus Civilisation via the Indus Metre & their time
measurement that speak of 10x100x100 Indus Seconds - like what Swatch Watch
shows, as Internet time.

I find it annoying whenever I read Popular Science or any scientific
publication that has been dumbed down to use non SI units. You end up with
such confusing units. I wrote a letter to PopSci encouraging them to use SI
units when describing scientific things but no reply as of yet.
I always enjoy reading at least the BBC's site because it does do distances
in metric first then possibly a non SI unit in parenthesis. I wish our news
services would at least put both in there.
