Pierre,

The National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) has a fundamental, and
advanced specialized examinations for candidates to become certified as
registered professional engineers.

A license as a registered professional engineer is now required to practice
civil engineering in most if not all states in the USA. That requirement
applies to civil engineers who work as land surveyors because of potential
legal disputes, I believe.

Get copies of recent (or specimen) NSPE examinations which are in the public
domain and use them as proof to your professors that classroom instruction in
SI is *essential* because of the large number of problems in SI-only!
