Generation Tools has come out with a multi-function device, SquareOne,
that includes a tape measure. They market these with various lengths of
tape, but apparently all in inch-only configurations. I sent them the
following comment online:

yourselves off from a portion of the market and have constrained
yourselves to the "buggy whip" generation.
In fact, you would find a more fertile and open market if you were to
manufacture metric-only tapes. You would have few competitors there. And
you would find extensive market opportunities in Canada and Mexico, as
well as in the U.S.
Might I suggest that you redesign your product line to include only dual
scale tapes and metric-only tapes?
