I was listening to a news program on the CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corp) tonight on which a public official in British Columbia was talking about the effects of ice blockages on one of their rivers and the worse effects of the breakup of those blockages.
I was pleased (and a bit surprised) to hear him speak of distances in kilometers and temperature in degrees Celsius (with no translation to Imperial either by him or by the reporter or by the presenter at any point during or after the interview). I guess if the Canadians can do it in the teeth of an "Imperial" USA right along their border, I imagine we can eventually convert eventually, too! Cheers, Ezra
