Those are absolutely metric sizes converted back to inches. .177 and .187 are 4.5 mm and 4.75 mm, almost exactly. I'm sure they took 4.5 mm and converted it, got .177165354 and just rounded it off. The rest fit that pattern nicely as well.

Shall we write them and try to get them to use mm instead?

This company lists only fractional inch sizes for their acrylic sheets, yet they are all millimeter sizes it appears. I bought some listed as 0,08'' on the label, nothing else yet it's 2 mm think almost exactly. I have no doubt it's all metric converted to decimal inches.
