Of course the beauty of the metric system is that metres merge into kilometers without any problem - 1500 m and 1.5 km are totally interchangeable.
Now, why should one recognize that 2640 yd is equal to 1.5 miles? Oops, sorry, this a US-based forum, I should have written 7920 ft! Either way, they don't blend in. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: 15 June 2008 17:13 To: U.S. Metric Association Subject: [USMA:41117] Re: Werlings' recent trip in our 2007 Toyota Prius Nat, In reduced-speed zones, drivers can more easily estimate short distances in meters rather than in kilometers, and short time intervals in seconds rather than in hours. Does that make sense to you?
