Delaying conversion to digital TV will only create problems and will penalize
those who have taken action. It's unfair to those who have taken action and
spent money already.

The Congress only wants to postpone the DTV date to 12 June. Personally, I
think the country has had sufficient warning, but I'm confident that it will
happenl it's a done deal. It is a simple change with minimal disruption in
routine. However, metrication is a much more complex problem. It will affect a
great deal of what we do as Americans, but, in the long run, it will be a great
benefit for everyone, although many people, now and later, will not appreciate
that.

Paul,
Do you really think Obama will do something about changing the country to
the metric system? May be so, but I can see that when the time actually comes,
the plan would be canceled as it was before.
Obama presently wants to delay the implementation of only digital TV
signals because procrastinators aren't ready. Will they ever be?
I can see the same thing happening with going metric. The plans are drawn
up and the dates are set, then at the last minute everything will be put off
because someone won't be ready.
What would make anyone think that metric is any different then TV signals?
Jerry
