Jim,

My objection is to your initial wording "pulls them around" which implies a 
*tangential* force (a push or a "pull", a thrust) to the lay reader.  Better 
would have been "pulls them toward the center of the earth."

We certainly agree that an earth-centric coordinate system is best for 
explaining near-earth orbits.  This transitions to a moon-centric system as 
best for orbits around the moon.

Please do not associate me with invention of the "slinch."

as more precisely worded.
