Last week, Fareed Zakaria published an article in the Time magazine arguing that America is in decline. This was followed up by a well-publicized special on CNN that explored the topic over 60 minutes' time. Many reasons for the decline and many more ideas to fix it were given. Reading the article and watching the special, it was easy to see where a proposal to adopt the metric system would have fit in perfectly. Unfortunately, this time around Mr. Zakaria didn't mention the metric system. Too bad, it would have made for a good boost to our cause.
