Washington State pot smokers will be learning some more SI, now that the recreational use of marijuana has been legalized there. A TV news report this morning that they'll be speaking of a limit of 5 ng/mL of active THC in whole blood. But, at least this new instance of the widespread use of an SI prefix will come from laboratory science and not directly from the illicit drug trade, although the "drug trade" influenced its arrival on the scene.
