I remember being in the Dubai Gold Souk about 5 or so years ago and all gold
jewellery was weighed and priced by the gram. The price of gold was posted as
xx$/g and xx Dirham/gram.

I owned until recently, a 100 g gold bar I bought in 1982 in Abu Dhabi. No
ounces in sight then and obviously none going forward.
