As a Brit, I read this with horror. What are your guys up to?

 

Travel insurance in the UK usually comes in three tiers:

Tier 1 – Europe

Tier 2 – The rest of the world except North America

Tier 3 – North America

 

Tier 3 is the most expensive, so what is different about North America?  Is it 
lawyers making loads-a-money out of a medical industry that are unable to adopt 
sensible standards?

Thank goodness the father was familiar with metric. But that was sheer luck.
