I went to the doctor yesterday, many months after my last visit. (Not my usual doctor, but someone else in the same office.) She agreed that it is absurd to measure patients' mass and temperature in backward units, but said it's what the state requires.
* What part of the government sets the units used in medicine? *Are the measuring instruments settable to measure in metric? I know that the thing for measuring height has a millimeter scale. *Is the software set up so that data previously entered in old units can be displayed in metric by just flipping a switch?
