Internal is to the SDR’s on-board TCXO, while external pulls the clock from
the external clock in port on the rear of the device. Unless I am mistaken,
to use the GPSDO, you must set the clock source and time source to “gpsdo”.
That’s the way it works on the N310, at least, so I suspect it’s similar for
the X310.

Very respectfully,

Subject: [USRP-users] USRP X310 with GPSDO : clock source parameter

CAUTION: This email is from outside of Riverside Research. Be careful when

Dear all,

I’m using USRPs X310 with integrated GPSDO. My goal is to compare the
quality of different types of local oscillators but I’m confused with the
clock reference source parameter.

When the clock reference source is specified as “internal“ will my reference
be the internal TCXO or the GPSDO? Similarly, when the clock source is
specified as “external“ which of these two clocks will be the reference?

Thank you for your answer,

Amélia
